As Clinical Instructor in the College of Education and Human Services at West Virginia University, I presently am teaching two Literacy courses, one being EDUC 460 – Primary Grade Literacy course, and the other being EDUC 461 – Intermediate Grade Literacy course, both for undergraduate education students. I also serve as Placement Coordinator for several programs, in which I coordinate and arrange field-based and clinical placements in local and surrounding counties for students in various education related content areas. Other courses that I am responsible for are all Student Teaching courses related to Certification (C&I 588, C&I 584, C&I 585, C&I 491). While at WVU, I enjoyed taking classes which led me to obtain my Principal’s Certificate. Prior to my position at West Virginia University, I also obtained my Master of Education Degree and Reading Specialist Certificate from Penn State University. During my professional career I have taught in central Pennsylvania as a Reading Specialist in Grades 1-6, as well as a teacher in Kindergarten and Grade 3. Prior to that, I also have enjoyed teaching in Pinellas County, Florida as a first grade teacher.
